Class Information

Christ the King Christian Preschool offers a Christian preschool setting for children ages 3-5. Students enjoy small class sizes, individual attention, and a nurturing and fun learning environment.

Class sessions are three hours long, from 8:30-11:30 am. You have the choice of enrolling children in two, three, or five mornings a week. The school year runs between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Other than that, our school calendar coincides with that of the Iowa City public schools. A student must be at least three years old and toilet trained before he/she may attend class. State law requires both an up-to-date Iowa record of immunizations and health information report completed by a physician for each child.

We encourage and welcome classroom visits. To meet with the teachers or observe a class, or for more detailed information and current tuition rates contact the preschool at 319-930-9988 or ctkpreschooliowacity@gmail.com.

Curriculum

Our curriculum offers reading, math, science, art, and music activities.  We focus on a letter of the alphabet each week with letter sound and writing activities.  A rotating weekly theme is also utilized.  Examples of these themes include:  health, holidays, seasons, weather, and colors.  Each class participates in weekly bible story time with the church pastor.

We also believe that it is important and necessary for students to have an opportunity to engage in free play activities in which they can socialize and work on problem solving skills.  Our teachers have built in time for free play throughout our morning.

Enrollment

A student must be at least three years old and potty-trained before he/she may attend class. The following completed forms must be on file before the student’s start date: Registration Form, Parent Contract, Health Info Form, Iowa Immunization Record along with a $50 nonrefundable deposit made payable to Christ the King Preschool. Mid-year enrollment is allowed if class openings exist.
